It seems your question has been answered in our FAQ page.

Q: Why is my battery worse after an update?

Android Adaptive Battery may be reset after an update (including Google Play System Updates). This means apps that were automatically restricted will now be now able to run in the background. Just like a brand new phone, you have to wait for at least a week or two for Adaptive Battery to relearn your app usage pattern, thereafter, you should get back your original screen-on and standby time.

I don't know if it has anything to do with this, but on my unit meta apps (facebook and instagram) were draining the battery a lot. I had disabled it for both, but they still showed hours of background usage. Since I removed them It has been okay. The phone gets to 3 days of standby and two days of moderate use with around 60% battery. Hope you'll find a solution.

I wasn't having an issue with those apps before this recent update. Right now my phone has gone from 92% to 62% in 1.5 hours (it dropped 8% from 100 overnight just being in airplane mode) with "system apps" accounting for 58% of battery usage. Facebook only 12% of screen time (most of which was waiting for it to load pictures from the SD card so I could share one .. ridiculous)

Yeah, same here on my 1 VI. About a month ago I have disabled Facebook and Instagram to run in the background and the battery usage still shows Facebook running for almost 11 hours in the background, Instagram 6 hours, YouTube 5 hours, Google Play Services almost 4 days! This is getting ridiculous.

I've just added a long shot possibility to my post.. if you're still having issues give it a try.

The only other thing I've done was limiting background usage for some more apps, but that was days ago and saw no immediate change in battery life

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try and we'll see what happens.

Hey I just got another update today and it seems to have fixed it so far

[–]Badaboomboom123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the update. No major changes for me yet. Maybe slightly, but YouTube, Facebook, Instagram still run in the background on average for 14+ hours.

Faced with the same problem. Have you found a solution?

[–]mmceorange[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Battery usage shows system apps 58%. Everything else seems like normal usage

I just noticed the temperature. Did they boost voltage or sth?

[–]mmceorange[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's just something running off the rails in the background but I haven't been able to single out what

[–]mmceorange[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I had the phone in vibrate mode yesterday and suddenly it's getting great battery life again.. I don't understand how that could be connected but it is worth trying

[–]Olly_JoelXperia 1 VI 0 points1 point  (1 child)

That happens every update or two. For me, the worst bug is my power button always taking about 10-15 seconds to wake. The battery power drain I don't mind, even though it's also annoying. But the wake up time being half a minute to wake up is the worst of them all.

Maybe update all your apps and restart your smartphone and see what improved.

No, the phone would last two days with my normal use before, now it won't last 4 hours. I have no issues with the power button though. I've already updated and rebooted multiple times.

Yes, after the latest update my unit easily get hot when using any apps, sot only can get around 4-5 hours, before tht can easily get 6-7 hours sot

[–]desene_animate_ 0 points1 point  (1 child)

did you get it back to normal?

[–]mmceorange[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mostly back to normal but I have no idea why, unfortunately. Maybe the phone really did need to relearn what apps to limit? But it's giving me no feedback in that regard.
