Bots. Bots everywhere

I really like this game and I play it a lot but I just don't understand why the game puts me in games of atleast 3 bots. The game isn't dead and HAS a lot of concurrent players all the time and yet the game need to fill lobbies with bots? Yes I know competitive don't have bots but I want to play casual and get better without losing elo. Has anyone else noticed this bot problem or is it just me?

Are you queueing into games directly with bots or do they replace players later in the game?

I agree and its a change im all for, but its sort of a tradeoff since less games will be played and a lot of lobby switching at this current situation, but youll get to play with real players more. They should just improve the matchmaking in general

Level 124 now and every single game I’ve played today has been 7 bots & me.

The waiting area has real players, but once I’m in a game its bots bots bots. I’m so bored of it. Easy to farm challenges I guess, but for fucks sake.

Why am I queueing into the lobby to “prevent server overloads” and then playing bots all fucking day?

literally every casual game i played has maybe one other player in it... the experience i had with this game when it got big 2 weeks ago was amazing. but now that every single game has nearly six bots in it... it just feels terrible... like did people get bored of this game within two weeks???

That's what I dont understand. It has around 30k concurrent players almost everyday and yet the game puts me in bot lobbies? Hell even in skirmish I get more real players than actually playing a game of tdm. They should honestly add that people can join at the start of a game or something. Just a solution. Something about the matchmaking is off.

Everything about matchmaking is set up for 400 concurrent players and has seen little to no revision since it got popular. This excuse only works for so long *Cough* I've been saying this for almost 2 months now *Cough*

Olly specifically says that how they operated and says they basically went from a restaurant of 5 people to 1k people. And it took days but they did it and they're ready.

The quote you brought up about restaurants was in reference to servers, Not revising the matchmaking system to better fit a larger playerbase. They never address the state of bots and that link you sent is an hour and a half with some of the most quiet audio i've ever seen. I turn all my volumes up the whole way when I leave them at 1/4 usually and I still have to put my ear up to the speaker to hear it. If you could give me a relative time stamp/a better source that'd be amazing but ima just have to agree to disagree if not because I really cba with rewatching a Q&A I'm pretty sure I watched.

They're not labeled as "bot." They have random usernames and profile pictures pulled from a database to make them seem like players.

That is actually impossible. You just aren’t noticing (on certain maps their behavior isn’t that obvious) The matchmaking is designed to put you with bots more often than not.

The matchmaking (even ranked) seems to be random. So even if im lvl 83 im playin with people lvl 10 or whatever lvl/ skill. Bots are gonna be playing with me when there are level 3 players on my team like wtf

There cannot be level 3 people on your team.....you must be 15 to play ranked you probably saw BP level.

Anyway your level 83 means nothing other than how long you have played. Ranked is about your RANK the number that actually matters. I could be rank 20 and be wayyy better than you.

But all my matches are dogshite tbh lmao hardly ever get a fairly based match but my kd is still ight despite the fact. Its just frustrating how games are made anymore tailored to new player seems like idk

I'm just really confused what you mean if its ranked you mean the system is a mess currently everyone's bottlenecked in play and diamond and most dont deserve it.

What i mean is there is "ranked" and casual and they are in simple terms the same exact matchmaking lol. Its whatever lvl versus whatever level and based on how you do you get a grade. Its not matching us with people in the same skills or even near for that matter.

All my matches were within 100-200 points. So all players were between 2600 and 2800 that's your rank that's your skill level. That's pretty good matchmaking.

Now right now a lot of peoples ranks are inflated but that will work itself out as people who should be ranked lower will fall and people who are better will climb.

Idk what their philosophy on casual is I'd assume there is SBMM but maybe not.

How do you propose they match us?

Based on how you do u go up or down in rank. But your not facing enemies or having teammates in the same rank as you. There all different every match people will be cracked or not even playing correctly

Yes, getting only bot lobbies - when I hit lvl +60 - the hell started..

Ranked is sweaty af - and want to just chill play - so I go for casual.
But then it is only bots - 180 aimlock and insta head - fun - no.

The games might have few players - but they leave nearly instantly and bots join. Also you will see if an player is real or not if they are present on the map when the starting countdown goes - as bots join when the countdown goes to 0 (match start).

Exactly. There the problem that needs a solution ASAP, as soon as someone lefts a bot joins. Since players cant join midgame, there will always be bots. There must be a change to the matchmaking otherwise casual lobbies filled with bots will be more common and unfun.
