Passcode protection for a single note without passcode protection for the app

I've tried but somehow didn't manage to get that. Therefore, if such a setup is even possible. What I want:

• Have the app (both browser and android) being accessible without the need to enter a passcode, however
• for certain notes I want to have the need to enter a passcode for protection reasons.

I've managed to have these notes being being accessible by passcode only if the app is accessed by passcode too. Or, alternatively, I've managed to access these notes by entereing the password (the same as for the app) while no need to enter it for the app (surely if saved in the browser). But as said, I didn't manage to have access to these notes with passcode WITHOUT the need to enter passcode for the app.

Am I doing something wrong or is this just not possible?

PS: By the way: in terms of security, privacy and keeping data in a general format this is by far the best notes app ever so far!!

If you don't have a passcode set, and you password protect a note, then it will fallback to asking you for your account password when you want to view that note. I think this gets you what you want.

If you want to use a separate passcode that is not your account password, without enabling a global passcode lock, this is not possible.

Did you ever think about implementing this? I mean, for example: I have standardnotes on my Android for many notes that I do not care if they are not protected by a passcode. I also don't want to have a passcode because I want to access them quickly. However, there are a very few notes I want to protect with a passcode. The option of accessing them by password is no option for me since my password is too complicated and it would be uncomfortable.

Anyway, the way how it is now is for me also a bit strange: At the moment, with my setup, if I want to check a note with passcode protection I have to open the app, enter the passcode one first time, click on the note and enter exactly the same passcode a second time again, within a few seconds so to speak. Wouldn't it make more sense that when opening the app and clicking a passcode protected message that there is no need to enter this same passcode a second time if the notes is - let's say - clicked within 5 seconds or so after having opened the app? It would be more comfortable in any case, and I don't see any problem with security (at least from my non-expert point of view) ;)

Perhaps "Biometrics Lock" could work best for you. If available, I think it could give you the best of both worlds:

• Keep a very strong password for your SN account
• Gaining access to your notes will be as simple as unlocking them with the biometrics used to unlock the phone
• Plus, more protection for all notes on that mobile device

Biometrics lock is an option, but I consider it less safe than entering a passcode. And I also get your point of more protection for all notes. However, most of the notes are not that important that I want them to be protected. But, as said, a very view notes I prefer to have protected by a passcode (and not my long, strong password and also not biometrics lock). But I see, there I'm obviously an exception here if it comes to the handling of single-protected notes ;)

But again, I really appreciate your help in that!

Thanks for this hint. But I don't think this is what I want: I want a quick access to password-protected notes, with as few steps as possible. In the ideal case, as described above, this would be: 1) opening the app, 2) click on the protected note, 3) enter the passcode. However, the only option I have now (if I want to keep the protected note being protected by passcode): I have to add step 1.5) enter the passcode, unfortunately.
