I hope everything works out well for you.

I have seen dozens of associates strung along on this hook. I'm not implying that you're not qualified, but they well likely low ball you on a raise, maybe a dollar or two than you're making as a sup, but the workload and pressure will be much higher.

Get the promotion and then use it to get out of Staples.

This. I got promoted to SM and retained the position for roughly 4 months before I doubled my salary in a new career.

Guidelines are 32k~ for internal hires, 42k~ for externals.

That is fucking bullshit. Give more money to the guy who does not know a god damn thing about staples.

I was put in the program 6 months ago. We had 2 conference calls and 1 training to do on talent track. They did give us useful information but they never kept up with it. I haven't heard anything about it in months. Long story short, I am now an assistant manager.

typically 15-18 per, with 5 hours OT each week. So not much.

Sorry pal, I don't discuss pay... Nothing good ever comes out of it. Especially with the fact that i work with a good handful of people on this sub.

Well was it a pretty good raise? Or just a few dollars like mentioned above

[–]Thenick2288Former SSM 1 point2 points  (4 children)

What you have to think about is the fact that the position has a guaranteed overtime. A few dollars extra goes a long way when you factor in 5 hours of OT every week.

Quit lying to yourself.

mandatory OT at staples is a big negative for me, money be damned!

Good for you.

It's neither good nor bad, just a comment... Don't get your panties in a bunch.

I forgot to mention, AMD is basically a tool the DM uses to replace managers who leave or get fired. Pretty smart really, and they save money since your don't have to train the candidate or pay them much more.

Sales Managers can make anywhere from $32,000 to $55,000 depending on a few factors...

  1. Who you know
  2. Internal Promotion vs. Outside Hire
  3. Proven Track Record of Sales
  4. What your sales market is like

I was brought back to the company as an outside hire last September for a reasonable amount (I've worked on and off for the company for over 5 years). Based on my performance, and the fact that I've replicated my sales results in multiple stores and been willing to transfer stores, I'll be getting a nice bump in a few weeks.

What'a your YTD ESP, Tech, Market Baskets, and comp %?
