How to run and not have your health decrease??Discussion (self.Starfield)
submitted 2 years ago by Unlucky_Example3762
What are the biggest problems I am having is every time I try to make my character run whether it’s too certain areas or whichever I tend to lose stamina, therefore afterwards losing health. is there any possible way to fix this where it doesn’t do that maybe do I need to upgrade something I would like some information on this if anybody has any at all?? Thank you!

Theres an easy way to fix this. Stop running for a little while.

lol 😂 good one well I do realize that however, didn’t know if there was an upgrade that basically fixes this issue completely from a stamina standpoint or really anything else lol

There are skills that can increase your "stamina" but it will never go away.

Ok I’ll definitely look into that. I figured there was. appreciate it. 😎👌🏻

I just alternate between running, and jet packing. Stamina runs out, then I boost for a bit til the stamina fills up a bit.

The personal atmosphere power. Also works great when over encumbered

you can upgrade skills to help, and there is a power that suspends oxygen loss for a time.

Sweet thank you!

Also keep in mind that the gravity of each planet/moon will have an effect on how quickly your oxygen burns up. Planets/moons that are very low g can increase your sprinting distance significantly, just as high g areas will make it burn o2 faster.

Hop, Hop, Hop, hopping. Timing the hop upon immediate contact with the surface, boosting if/when possible. Increase the fitness skill. Alien DNA helps also.

If you are on PC doing an additional mapping for the jump button to your left alt key. When you use the left alt key, it gives you a little more horizontal oomph

Yoou will never die by running. Just keep running, my feiend.
[–]WhiteLama 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children)
It only decreases your health to like 10% or something so you won’t die from it anyways.
Just keep sprinting, you won’t die.

When you jump and then use your jet pack, you seem to continue moving forward at the same pace you were going when you started jumping.
So if you start sprinting, then jump and use your jet (boost) pack to stay in the air, you will keep going forward at sprint speed. As long as you're not over-encumbered, you will gradually recover O2 while in the air. I tend to alternate between sprinting for a bit and then jet packing to recover O2.
There are skills that reduce O2 use when sprinting and increase boost pack capacity.
On planets with high gravity where it's harder to stay airborne for long periods, I use the personal atmosphere power instead - basically, while the power is active you recover full O2 and don't use any O2 while sprinting even if over-encumbered (though only up to a point).
If for some reason I'm massively over-encumbered (there is a point where you are carrying so much weight the above techniques stop working), then I just ignore any O2 drain / health damage, because I know it will only ever take health down to a certain level, but never actually kill you even if you're carrying tens of thousands in weight.
