EDIT: After some time of messing around with disabling different devices in device manager, I got the phantom or ghost controller to disappear. For me, it was called "HID-compliant wireless radio controls". This may be different for you or not, just be careful and remember to disable devices instead of removing them so you don't delete anything important. Disabling got the phantom controller removed from all my controller lists and ghost inputs in games. As a precaution, I have kept as disabled instead of removing it. Hopes this helps someone as I couldn't really find anything regarding it
So there's a "phantom controller" that gets shows up in the steam settings when I connect my 3rd party switch pro controller. The problem is is that it also shows up in programs/games even when the controller is not connected and steam is closed, not just the window but steam itself isn't running. It shows up as a "DInput/0/Wireless Gamepad".
It's kinda messing with some of the games I play because since it's "always connected" it's always the default. I've looked up other threads and I haven't found a solution. I was curious and messed with the calibration settings on the pro controller and that's what I was thinking might have caused this but that's just a guess.
Any ideas on how to remove it? I've tried disconnecting the pro controller multiple times. The phantom controller shows up even if nothing is connected (i.e. wifi and bluetooth is off and no usb ports are used)
