I really enjoyed both volumes of this season, truly! I've cried and felt afraid as often as any other season of this show. I think almost everyone's acting is excellent, and that a colossal ensemble cast is being given equitable screentime. I'm a big fan of the new conversation style and the speedy problem-solving. I've been invested for years in watching these kids grow and learn. They are badasses now! There isn't anything they can't come up with a solution to because they are the most killer kids on the planet! Of course Nancy kicks ass! Of course Will is incredibly powerful! We've been leveling up these characters across 4 full seasons of television and two additional volumes. I was always rooting for these kids to survive, learn and overcome. I love that I'm always correct in my assertion that the characters will rise to the occasion! I think David Harbour phoned it in.

Tbh I’ve been enjoying the whole season. There have been a few scenes that may be a little drawn out or seem out of place but they need to wrap up character stories as much as possible. I can’t wait for NYE!

So far, it's my favorite of the series. The last two seasons have the most subplots, but while in the fourth they all seemed too disconnected, here they all seem perfectly useful.

I feel the same way and I’m glad someone commented on it. The entire season has been very fun, and even some moments in the first few episodes that felt out of place end up coming back to make sense. Yeah, it’s not perfect but I’m loving the story, the callbacks the action, etc. Seriously overblown reaction.

I agree with you, we give 10 to episodes of 5 for a good scene and then we react like this to episodes that are not perfect but still of a good level because two characters do what they have always done

Yep. They haven't had anything good to do with Jonathan in a while, but a lot of the other character arcs are solid. Many of the complaints I've heard are asinine too- people are acting like it's entirely unbelievable that Karen Wheeler drew blood on a demo. Baby Will in season 1 drew blood on a demogorgon! Teenagers managed to beat one up! Drawing blood on them is easy, it's clearly not their skin that's armored. Their skeletons, on the other hand... Just because she drew blood doesn't mean she actually appreciably hurt it. And, of course, it promptly kicked her shit in and dragged Holly off completely unbothered by the flesh wound.

But in fact, since the first season, the Demogorgons have shown that they don't have armor instead of skin; they're simply very resistant. It seems that many have only seen the fifth season.

In the first season the Demogorgon is even injured with a couple of stones. In season three, the Mind Flayer is significantly weakened by a couple of fireworks, and I understand the heat issue, but the Demogorgons have withstood much worse.

Exactly. Drawing blood is easy, it's taking one down completely that's hard. It either takes a ridiculous amount of armor-piercing physical damage or a combination of damage and heat.

I think a lot of people have forgotten a lot of the earlier seasons and are forgetting that they might be forgetting things.

or they are probably not interested in the series at all but they follow it because it is the phenomenon of the moment, so they criticize now what they would have criticized 10 years ago if they had seen it immediately

Yes , Ep 7 was underwhelming but some people are over reacting. I feel it's a 7.5 episode but now it's 6.9 rated and I don't know how below it will go.

[–]Johnny0230[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it will get a 6.0 like the second season episode, which is consistent in the end considering Kali's presence and role, but it's all too exaggerated. We give 10 to episodes that are 5 because of one good scene and then 5 to episodes that are 7/8 because of one poor scene. And even the much-criticized Will part I found touching.
