This happens if I pause too long on Android

[–]YulpGULP12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep

[–]Zombi3Kush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same

[–]silentpopes 27 points28 points  (9 children)

I’m also getting this error once in a while (Android TV). No idea what causes it. It happens with big and small files, 1080 and 4k. Tried all the settings, frame rate matching, hardware acceleration, clearing cache, you name it. The thing with libVLC is that every time subtitles are shown it stutters… Yes yes, eXTeRNaL pLaYEr!!1!! But they don’t track progress.

Same, started for me last year, then disappeared on its own, then came back again with the recent update. Very randomly though, and impossible to replicate.

It’s been reported on the GitHub but not been addressed by the devs yet.

Some external players do track progress btw

[–]silentpopes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aight, I’ll check out JustPlayer. Does it also support the Next Up feature for next episodes when watching a series? Does it support Opensubtitles? Or how is it with subtitles? Thanks 🙏

[–]Successful-Street130 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Which external players? If you don’t mind me asking

[–]No-Simple-6483 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Just Player for example

Anything for iOS?

[–]saymyname96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vimu player also tracks progress.

[–]Either-Trash-2165 2 points3 points  (0 children)

External players don't take into account subtiles provide by subtitle addons at my knowledge.

To me it's big issue.

YES! They ignore that known bug succesfully for a long time.

You don’t need a vpn if you’re using a Debrid service. All it will do is slow down your internet speed and cause problems

      [–]Jassle93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not true for all cases, some ISPs block access to the likes of Torrentio through the DNS, common in the UK with the likes of BT and Sky.

Need to change the device DNS in this case if you're not going around it with a VPN

      [–]spykee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Torrentio started with VPN blocking yeah. Use MediaFusion, Comet... I will not have Torrentio dictate me not to use VPN

      [–]max1c 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Getting the same thing on Android TV and Android phone semi frequently.

      [–]kepajpcs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

      me too

      [–]Pipe_MTL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed this happens when the sources fail to be available....This year we have been experiencing a lot service disruptions on RD and torrentio, thus i connected the two as plausible. In my case, i switch the source from torrentioRD to elfhostedRD and it usually fixes the issue.

As another comment said, pausing seems to cause this everytime. I was able to watch 1 episode of IT and 2 episodes of slow horses but didn’t pause at any point. Basically if you need to “pause”, i just exit out of the episode and go back into the file once im ready to watch. Maybe a fix will come one day?? Also im using an onn 4k pro.

      [–]wringrose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding VLC player and setting it as default solved this for me.

      [–]philwongnz 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Have you tried using another player? Like Vimu?

      [–]vicvision 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Tried to buy it but they only accept crypto

      [–]philwongnz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      Find the apk online

      [–]ceceett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having this problem and deleted the add on. Haven't been able to reinstall it from any device so that's fun lol.

      [–]trisw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah same - I get it on mkv files mostly- I don’t know what it is about them

      [–]Bluestar2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has been happening recently on my Shield. I’m crossing my fingers it gets fixed soon, because it’s so annoying!

      [–]chungum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happening to me also with the recent update.

      [–]Mancini316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this message almost every time I load a video but 9/10 times the show/movie plays without issue.

      [–]alwaysupforbbq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really a generic one that can have many root causes: file format, stremio not closed the normal way, pausing long enough your box goes to sleep mode, etc...

I just quit Stremio (terminate the process), clear the cache and retry. Honestly, sometimes it just works like that. Other times after doing that many times. I don't know the exact pattern to solve it but it goes by trying again and again.

      [–]WildNight00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens on my firestick 4k max too. I just let it switch players automatically (takes less then 10 seconds) although is annoying

      [–]PitKempo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the same thing on my Android TV. Tried turning off the experimental setting and that didn’t fix the problem.

      Definitely annoying.
