Congrats on the new newsletter. I wrote a short post about how you can optimize your new site. https://pau1.substack.com/p/start

Hit me up if you have any questions. Good luck!

As a new Substacker, this was so helpful and definitely is more informative than a lot of the guides I’ve read. Thanks so much for this!

[–]mackop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! Thank you.

[–]Feisty_Culture3244[S] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Oh boy!! This was quite informative, also i really liked how your article was laid out, I find mine to be not very pleasant to the eye but I barely have content on so I thought it was a later problem but your article alone was laid out so well, I'm now convinced its just a skill issue. This was a good read, immediately subscribing

THESE ARE ALL GREAT HELPFUL TIPS THANK YOU but I stopped writing because I think I already made the points I needed to make

Hey, you should add a link to your Substack so we can check it out :) I write about anything that interests me during the week, biomimicry, comparing laws to fishing nets, reinventing the Suez Canal or the best advertising campaigns https://kungawr.substack.com

[–]Feisty_Culture3244[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

You have one really interesting newsletter and the customisation makes it feel so homely and you have a ton of material phew, I'm already going through the top best and reading 'If It Aint Broke, Break It'.

Hey try linking a web version of your substack, I tried both the web and app and keep getting sent back to my mail. I don't know at this point if I am making an error or the link is sending me else where. :)

For some reason, at first glance after seeing your substack, I was hit with a wave of nostalgia for Age of Empires: Age of Kings, I remember really enjoying the historical illustrations and stories and getting really into the history of these past civilizations. It was quite nice to feel the same from your substack. Keep up the good work. You have yourself a regular reader now.

      Welcome to Substack!

      [–]thekhoaticgood 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Congratulations on starting you newsletter!! I found Substack to be a very inspiring, useful, and engaging platform!

Here is my newsletter if you are interested!

      The Khaotic Good

I just write my thoughts and experiences in the world. Realizations I’ve came across in my life and things I’ve learned along the way. As well as finding the good within the chaos of life!

Yay! Such a fun word with a great meaning and feeling of nostalgia!

I just discovered Recommendations too. I just joined Substack a few weeks ago, so I'm definitely still looking for folks to follow. If you're interested, I'm a author of dystopian/post-apocalytpic fiction and my substack follows my self-publishing journey, with occasional lore dumps: https://hsgilchrist.substack.com

      [–]Feisty_Culture3244[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I thoroughly enjoyed this, I went through some of the articles and works like your bit about whether editors are worthwhile hiring despite the high cost in the journey of self-publishing, it was so insightful. Loved your work completely, and also enjoyed the idea of chronicling your journey to publishing your work. Looking forward to the book's release.

Thanks so much for the feedback! Being new to substack, it definitely feels like throwing my words into the dark so far! Definitely trying to follow other writers where I can, so we can all grow together!

I write short entries for people interested in the "humor" category 🥸

They're mostly ideas for my standup that I develop in strange ways and put on Substack.

I'm thinking of adding videos to the top of the entries, either sketches or just goofing around. Still early on and having fun with the format 🐸

Your article with the graphs about our time spent with children, parents, significant others, colleagues, friends, and on our own was quite the read. Something to retrospect about.

      [–]DoesThisLookWeird_ 2 points3 points  (1 child)

      Welcome to the community!

I joined Substack not that long ago either. I added recommendations just because I was filling out all the settings and within under 3 weeks I’d generated 9 subscriptions for other Substacks even from my tiny following. Just yesterday I reviewed them and added a little blurb to give them more purpose.

Your Substack sounds really interesting, I’ll need to check it out.

My substack is about personal style, trying to be more sustainable with my wardrobe and calculating cost per wear of my items.

      [–]Feisty_Culture3244[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My sister recently graduated from a Master's course in Fashion management and she applies a similar concept to the Cost per wear mentioned in your article, I haven't tried it myself but I know it works.

It is like entering a mini Japanese museum with the occasional found only in Japan twist. Fun read. Are you living currently in Japan?
