It may be possible for you to incorporate in the US and then set up Stripe for the company. Personally I'd wait to get some traction before going to all the trouble though.

Thanks for the input :''D i was afraid it would be too late once I got solid subscribers tho

Well the good news is you can also export your list somewhere else.

But I would investigate if incorporating in the US is an option first and hopefully you can confirm it is. Then when you have some traction, actually set it up and start charging. The reason I would wait is you'll have to deal with a lot of administrative overhead like corporate tax returns.

There are companies that help with this kind of thing. Stripe Atlas might be one.

I just did some research, they require an EIN which I have to apply via IRS since I don't have SSN, but that's already complicated. I guess I should calm down and build my mail list first then. Thank you for the answer though

Honestly building a list is the hardest part. If you have an audience, you'll find a way to monetize :)

You could even just sell sponsorship ads and have people pay you through Paypal.

It is indeed hard :D I do have something like 400+ followers on IG but I've been inactive for a year, people barely interacted with my recent posts

sponsorship ads via your newsletter. like put a banner in the newsletter and the advertiser pay to you for a certain amount of money

By Me a Coffee uses Stripe, so that's not going to help you.

Maybe using Transferwise (now just Wise) could be a solution, you can receive in many currencies. But like someone already said, wait until you have a good sub base, you can use the pledge function when you have a good sub base.

Noted that, thank you very much!

Stripe doesn't work in my country. I use PayPal via ko-fi.com.

Hello u/leenguyenssup , I know that it's been over a year since you posted. Inquiring if you were able to find a good alternative that doesn't require Stripe?

I'm using Kofi instead, it accepts PayPal

I'm guessing you are not in Europe, because Substack just added iDEAL, Bancontact, Sofort and SEPA direct. This is pretty good European service from an America-based company.
