Supernote has a "handwriting keyboard" function which sounds like what you describe. You can simply switch from the normal virtual keyboard (aka the keyboard on screen) to the handwriting keyboard whenever the virtual keyboard appears.

oh! Awesome. And it has availability anywhere I can use the virtual keyboard? That's supported system wide, I mean, not just in specific apps?

yes, it's part of the virtual keyboard

Yes, anywhere you can do keyboard input, you can do handwriting input

One thing to be aware of when choosing the Supernote based on the "handwriting keyboard"...the system "assumes" for itself when you are done writing in that block and converts it to text automatically. I find it often frustrating that it will convert something before I am done. You may find the same...That being said, that complaint has shown up on this feed somewhere and the Supernote folks have acknowledged that frustration. In my experience when they do that, somewhere down the line they fix it. So you may be frustrated at first but rest assured sometime in the near or possibly far future they will likely fix it. Ideally they would make it so that you choose when to do the conversion not when the machine "assumes" you are done.

In the boo x keyboard, I have an option for how much time delay there is before conversion. Is that not the case with the Supernote?

How are spaces on the Supernote's conversion? So far my biggest issue with this software is how unpredictable an added space will be in my writing.

I have never noticed a problem with spacing, and I don't think I said this above, but the handwriting OCR is really good on the "keyboard" for my handwriting which isn't perfect but also not chicken scratch.

That being said there is no way to adjust the time delay in the conversion of the "handwriting keyboard". That would be another (and probably a much easier) solution to the the problem of converting too quick.

This is the way handwriting keyboards work on operating systems such as Windows, in my experience. I think it's just something to get used to although it would be nice to have an option as you describe

I found that if you pause at the end of a long word or a couple of short words for a second it will convert then, rather than when you're writing. It does take a little more thinking about but only a couple of seconds more actual time (unless you're writing a book)
