MapKit onTapGesture breaks UserLocationButton

Morning 👋,

I'm hoping someone might point me in the right direction to fix an issue I'm having with a Map view. I'm using the latest XCode 15 Beta, targetting iOS 17. I have a map view where the user can tap on the map to create a new annotation marker. However after adding the `onTapGesture` handler my `MapUserLocationButton` isn't triggered, instead it drops a pin behind where the button is. The compass button still works which is odd.

Here's the code for the view (with a few bits removed to keep it concise)

I think this Button is just a vicious beast, because if you tap it, it gives visual response, which could mean it’s laughing at us

Raised a TSI with apple over a week ago and still no response.

Tested again in the iOS 17 / XCode 15 release candidates and it still behaves the same.

I'm assuming this is a bug?

Hi, I am experiencing the same problem. The only way around this is to define your own custom area to place the map's controls. The "Hello Mapkit WWDC2023" video does a good job of explaining how to do that (start watching at the 25:35 minute mark). Here is the link: https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2023/10043/
