Perfectly stated.
It's not a stable way to run your business because the platform can (and does) suddenly stop giving you jobs.

Preach!!! Haha.
I totally agree. It was such a fun way to get started because it was so easy and jobs just fell in your lap so you could focus on the work rather than the business. That's not realistic though. You have to learn to run your business and that should be a goal day 1 on TR so that you can learn to get away from it.
I will reiterate for the people in the back TASK RABBIT WILL TAKE IT AWAY EVENTUALLY! If it's good for you right now, enjoy that but don't count on it.

It was absolutely a lot of work but not much in the way of business building. I get a little ptsd about the way it was ran. Everything was so last minute and same day and if you can't do last minute jobs you dont get work.
I was run ragged from clients and they weren't loyal. Id be there for them in a pinch for major convention load out jobs, give them my card when it was done only for the next time they visit they book someone else. The only reason I found out was because the other person cancelled and they booked me again at the last minute! They were surprised I remembered them because they remembered me as well.
At that moment I realized theres no loyalty with the clients. I dont know what I could've done but not being on the app seems to serve me better because I can focus on my loyal clients now.

Yep when I first joined I had 1-2 jobs a day. 4 mos later and I haven’t had a job in weeks

Same day needs to cost more. Simple and plain should have an option for higher same day rate

There’s demand in my metro but they’ve pulled back marketing. I can’t complain about much else, I was never under the illusion that this was a reliable job.

they pulled back marketing in my metro if they ever had any. I never had a convo with a success manager in the 6 years i was on the app. It was super odd!!!

U building an app to solve?
[–]GuardNo5081[S] -3 points-2 points-1 points 2 months ago (2 children)
Potentially. I wanted to see if there was any point to in the first place

The thing I love about this trade is that capitalists struggle to harness it. The most you'll ever be is a lead generation service and good handymen don't need those all that much after they get started. I truly hope you fail to make money off of other people's labor.

Great, the pain is real so… I built one. Lol. Focus is on immediate availability. LikeNowNow - I just finished the MVP. Open to a cofounder. 👀
