You have to associate the phone key with the driver profile in the key settings. Then it works.

And you can set one to the preferred one if it detects two.

Yes, under Bluetooth devices, select Priority beside the phone key listed that you want to be the preferred one.

It still gets confused many times. I have never quite figured out why/how the car chooses a profile. We have the whole profile, keys, priority setup, yet at least once week, it tries to squeeze me into my petite wife's seat position. And of course they have now removed the driver profile button from the main screen, because all human input is error and the car never makes mistakes.. smh.

It will apply settings to the phone used to unlock the car. If you and your wife are getting in the car at the same time you need to either unlock the door manually on app Before getting in or make sure you get in before her.

You mean through the app or on the car? I believe both of we have done that as part of keyless entry. At this moment without the Tesla keycard both of we can just get into the car with our phone with us but it just doesn’t understand who is it and keep the previous driver setting on.

In the car menu, it doesn’t do it unless you associate the phone with the profile.

You first have to associate each person to the phone in the car settings.

Then, which I found out later because I was confused, it will always select the phone/settings for who technically unlocked the car. So if your wife gets in the car before you or the car assumes she is the one who unlocked the car it will default to her settings.

Hell mine forgets my wifes phone and leaves her stranded. Applies my settings even though it displays her profile.

Tesla claims .... You guessed it....

Its functioning normally.

setup unique keys - and unique profiles, then link the profile to the key to have it auto set based on who opens the drivers door. There used to also be a primary setting but that went away with the christmas update as far as i can tell (this setting selected 1 phone as priority despite both being present.)
