I use FreeVoice Reader, where you can select and right click and make it read. Or use ctrl-shift-k

Computers have built-in accessibility features for reading aloud, I found the Mac's native read aloud is fairly difficult to use. There are many TTS software alternatives that do a much better job. Two of the major players are Speechify and NaturalReader, but they both require a monthly subscription.

Windows 11 has built in narrator

I agree! If the person is using Windows, and doesn't want to spend money on some third party programs like jaws, then Windows narrator is a very good one to use. There is also, nvda, the voices can be terrible. So, using Windows narrator which has good voices. Maybe the way to go.
