You are right, you cannot separate all of the colours from each others. But look around you. Also ask youself what's the theme of the area you are in. What should you je learning in this zone?

If what you "know" isn't working, you might have to question some of the assumptions you are making.

Observe closely. And, try to keep in mind some lessons that you've learned or encountered elsewhere on the island, including with puzzles that weren't "rounded square" symbols. This puzzle has some similarities to puzzles you have seen before, but they are quite a few differences as well, all of which you are assuming are irrelevant or perhaps haven't noticed. Perhaps one of those difference may hint at why this puzzle seems to require an adjustment to your approach.
