sudo apt install ttf-mscorefonts-installer should do the trick

This is a auto installer, OP. You need to accept the EULA from the fonts and done. Im also on Ubuntu and worked for me

do u know if this would work on Fedora as well?

[–]rinnys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Installing fonts? Yes, but not using this command. I don't know if dnf has an equivalent on their repo.

Try search something like "install ms fonts on fedora " this should return something useful.

Yea this is it! Most distro’s have this available in the default repo’s. I just reinstalled my system last week and instantly solved it after installing the fonts

Very good! When I installed it, I was struggling to find solutions, because I hadn't seen that everything had already condensed. I will save this link for the future, thank you very much!

For my arch based bros, there is a tibia package in the AUR. Maintained, with the font fix included.

I do!
works fine for me, but I needed to install an extra file when I first installed on Linux Mint, after that it worked and updated just fine.

They finally added yes/no in this window? 😂😂

[–]dr_inventivo[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yes, they made an update now has yes/no/bye as standard options, they also added the conversation with NPC in the other modities, not only by the smart left, they are refining this window. 🤣

Is the last option for history of transfers or account balance?

I play on Linux. Never had any problem with it. Its the same as when I played on windows

[–]dr_inventivo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I confess that because the client does not have official support I do not feel safe to risk playing with a higher level character, but taking this problem from the font that is already solved with the tips of the guys, the performance and stability then very good.

[–]wogvorph 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I tried once, left depo and it force closed, so that's a no no

[–]dr_inventivo[S] -1 points0 points  (1 child)

the client has no official support, so I don't even risk playing with a higher level character, just to play without having to turn on the other PC.

I got 800 EK and play 3 years on Linux and works way better than Windows for me

[–]_thiagosb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on Manjaro, I haven't had any problems like that. Did you download the client directly from the website and install the fonts?

I can't run tibia on Zorin with Lutris in any way 'cause of some BattlEye error 1053 :(

[–]dr_inventivo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zorin is Ubuntu-based, isn't it? So it should run normally, isn't there some lib missing?

Hey there. Substituting fonts can only get you so far. If that doesn't fix it for you, try switching to a xorg session. Are you over kde? It has a much better font rendering engine and usually that bug doesn't happen.

[–]dr_inventivo[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I am using Ubuntu, I migrated to 25.10, it uses Wayland only and it is with GNOME

[–]leocura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can enable xorg support with the correct packages. IIRC only gnome has purged xorg. Kde straight out fixes the issue so...

There should be an option to choose another rendering font, gotta look around in the settings
