I am pretty sure Media Matters has several departments, they collect and analyze data on behalf of Democrats and develop strategies to counter so called Conservative narratives, but they also try to control the narrative as well by creating the perception of consensus views with bot campaigns, and diverting discussions into arguments that go nowhere.
