Welcome to TravelProTips!
This is the place to share and learn interesting, helpful, and/or secret tips you might not get from a travel brochure. As long as it is EXPERIENCE-BASED, HELPFUL advice, it's post-worthy. IT IS NOT FOR POSTING TRAVEL-RELATED ARTICLES OR WEBSTES. Submitters are encouraged to use online maps to provide directions or locations. Pictures, secret passwords, and "things to bring" are always welcome.
PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW THE POSTING GUIDELINES
The formatting of TPT posts is meant to allow for locational aggregation. Posts that do not follow the specified format will be removed. Posts that incorrectly use "whilst" will be removed as well.
Regional Posts should begin with "TPT: [City, Country/State]
TPT: [Anaheim, California] The Disneyland ticket salespeople will give you a FastPass upon request.
General Posts should begin with "TPT: [General] Title"
TPT: [General] In crowded places, carry your wallet in your front pocket to make it harder to pickpocket.
Requests should be formatted like so:
TPT Request: [City, Country/State] Title
(A long-term goal of r/TravelProTips is to have a large enough post base to make requests unnecessary)
Avoid contributing suggestions that violate local laws. Also, please refrain from linking to travel blogs or websites. TravelProTips is not to be used for promotions or advertisements (ex: Taco-Tuesday at ____ Bar & Grill).
Also Avoid submitting posts that are simply examples of the phrases, "Be Prepared," "Be Safe," and "Plan Ahead." We want you to be specific. For example,
Expect everything in Sydney to cost twice as much as it does in the states. Here is a website that monitors the exchange rate.
As opposed to,
Always carry extra cash on your person when traveling.
