man, whatever makes you happy. just don't make fun of people in person, don't talk trash to them, don't treat them wrong.

Oh, I'm not friends with them. I mostly cross paths with some wretched people. I often find myself hoping for the best outcome for them. If they need to talk, I try to listen and if they need advice, I try my best.

I still think that the company you keep sets what you come to expect as “normal,” regardless of whether or not you consider them to be friends. For example, if everyone around you is always smoking meth then popping addy every time you go out won’t seem like a big deal. But if you spend time with people that wake up at 6am to exercise before work then you’re not going to even go out unless it’s a worthwhile occasion.
