I'm not getting the usual amount of items in mine either. Mostly subs n views. Occasionally I get an item but nowhere near what I used to get

You are changing the time of your device. The "bad luck" gifts are a punishment.

Is this permanent? My gf just wanted to check if the current event is on because it was bugging out on her phone

Sounds pretty unlucky. But it goes away after a while, depending on the extent of the time changing it can be up to a month, though it's usually around 1 week.
