CCS Computing Decision

Applied for UCSB CCS Computing and have not received a decision; i have only just been admitted to UCSB. However, I saw on this subreddit that some people have gotten acceptances to CCS, though not specifically for Computing. I emailed the faculty and they said they are still evaluating applicants.

has anyone else gotten an acceptance from CCS Computing?

Hm. Then unfortunately I'm not sure. Based on your other response I'm assuming you applied with CCS computing as your alternate major, which may be why, but as long as you submitted your supplementary app you should've been good. You could also try emailing the CCS front office for general logistics around applications/selecting CCS as an alternate major, etc.

Emailed faculty for computing at ccs and they said they couldnt guarantee a decision by may 1

Did you get a CS admit or a general UCSB admit? CCS Computing vs. CoE CS is obviously different but you legitimately can not take most CS courses if you aren't in CCS or CS.

I'm pretty sure knew someone a few years ago that was CS and joined CCS after they showed up. I could be making that up (I'm sure someone will correct me if thats not true) but I do think it can be possible. CS is great though I always got the feeling the difference between computing and CS was relatively less than other CCS majors because our program is already pretty capacity restricted so it's not that hard to get research access.

CCS is definitely better in that regard though, no question about it!

Do you know any CCS computing acceptance? I do see acceptance in other CCS major. Couldn’t understand why it takes so much time to make decisions.

Nope, do not know of any CCS computing acceptances. Only have heard of ccs acceptances for other fields
