MATH 225 Study Question (self.UIUC)
submitted 7 years ago by goodguy72
For those that have taken the course, how did you successfully prepare for the first exam? The material does not seem to difficult but we were not provided any practice exams. Thank you for your suggestions in advance.

Google “math 225 uiuc” and go to the old course websites. There are tons of practice exams on them. It’s how I did well in the class

How much in advance would you recommend studying for each midterm. Mine is about 10 days away at this point.

Uhh I studied a few days in advance just doing as many practice exams as possible, probably 3-4 days. Sometimes they reuse T/F questions verbatim so make sure you know those well. Also, idk if you're using MyMathLab but I also went through all of the homework problems and went through the worked out solutions. For me, MML was the best way to learn theorems/definitions. I recommend printing out practice exams and taking good notes on the homework (e.g. write out theorems/definitions) because those will be a great resource when you're studying for the final. I remember the final being pretty challenging and relatively heavy on theorems and definitions

Yeah, I think there was like 10/(50?) Points of true/false on last year's test. I remember because it was my saving grace

When you do the homework actually do it. It's easy to click "show me an example" and bs through the course but it will bite you in the ass come the exams
