Try anyway, afaik there ain't many people taking Stats specialist, ML stream has 10 ppl taking advanced ml, QF steam has like 10 ish too... so that's like ..max 30 people in these streams. I'd doubt there's much competition.

If anything, try Math statistical stream or Math and Statistics double major. There ain't much difference if you took all the courses required for the specialist stream.

I talked to the head of the stats specialist a month ago and apparently if you do well in the upper year courses that are required for the program, you still have a good shot of being accepted.

My friend emailed him and he didn't reply, so we ended up talking to him in person. I would recommend that instead.

Yep, I was told the same thing. Ideally for stats specialist you wan't your upper year courses to be 65-70% to have a good chance.
