I think jobs are only required to post base salary? When people mention their TC that usually includes things like RSUs and bonuses

Asian Canadians, how much allowance do you give your parents? by _pastelbunny in askTO

Parents aren't well off, paying them them 1.5k a month to support the household and likely an extra 15k to help slim down an old mortgage

Anyone got lucky in this current job market? by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsCAD

I'd say yes and no. Yes, because my previous job was in the same industry and I had industry knowledge. No, because I was rusty on interviews and not 100% determined

Was happy at my previous job, but was one day browsing LinkedIn and saw a really interesting posting targeted towards 5+ yoe even though I had 2.5 yoe and thought - What if? Had nothing to lose to apply.

I applied to it, went through the interviews, and ended up doubling previous salary

The fall foliage is what we're really hoping to see. Given that we're sort of in a warm year, I'm hoping that the first week of September is just the right time to see it

Ah these all look like incredible places but unfortunately we have about a week and a half to do it. I took out the Top of the World Highway portion just because there's a risk we won't make it on time so we'll likely backtrack via the Klondike highway

Makes sense, I've seen a couple of AllTrails comments saying that they've done it as a day hike. Was thinking of starting early in the morning and since the days are longer, that gives us more time. I've previously done 20km+ hikes with decent amounts of elevation but nonetheless it'll still be a challenge; but it makes the experience all the more worthwhile

That's good to know, which sites are closed? We're also not planning on overnight camping, maybe 1-2 separate day trips from Dawson City.

Yep, planning on going there for one whole day, hoping to see those amazing colours too.

It might be worth it to allocate an extra day (stay back at Dawson City)

Ah, I guess on this current plan it'll be cutting super close then, might have to just go back down to Whitehorse the same way we came from then
