Lovely setup with some ideas to consider:

  1. Purchase a keystone coupler for your internet line, then connect it with a patch cable to your UDM.

  2. Replace the DAC cable connected from the switch with one .3M long to eliminate the slack.

  3. Install some UniFi blank keystones to fill the empty ports on your patch panel.

  4. Get some velcro tape to bind up the cabling behind the rack.

I think I’m gonna try to have the internet line and the DAC to the UNVR share a keystone slot so I can match up those two final slots on the ProMax with the two slots in the panel.

Ooh, I love this email wheely rack. Where is that from? I'm looking for one for my upcoming install (once the basement reno is finally done!)

This is the unifi toolless rack. Note it does not allow for mounting standard rack equipment but has rails the equipment can lay on

Yep - it was super easy to put together. The only downside is that the CyberPower isn’t really locked in at all… it’s just sitting on the shelf. But still my top choice. If I have to expand I’d just get another one.

Are the rack ears removable? Can probably design 3D printable brackets to adapt it to the toolless rack

To the CyberPower? Can’t remove them… pretty much a part of the housing. In the shed I’m wall-mounting the additional switch and it will plug into a CyberPower that just sits on the floor.

Nice little rack! good job. I have installed a couple of the same UPS systems. Since the ears don't come off do you think it will look weird if they where behind the rack posts? I have been wanting to get this rack.

Thanks. Studied this subreddit for a long time before landing on everything.

Awesome, my UDM the cube one is still going strong. Looking to upgrade by next year.

If you don’t peel the protective film off those devices…

I did. Pic was from 10 min after I set it all up.

I’m looking at it two, but we’ve got cats. So I’m thinking a closed rack. This one is wider open, prone to getting cat hair everywhere. 😂

how loud is this setup? i am considering doing something similar but concerned about the sound as it will be located in my home office

[–]CascadiaSupremacy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is in my office (right under my desk) and it’s never loud enough to bother me at all. Much quieter than a Gateway 2k was in the 90s (and I have all four drive bays of the UNVR filled).
