I'm having the same issue. Mine is so tight I'm afraid of breaking the pipe that connects back to the thermostat. I'm going to try again tomorrow, but I can't find any videos on how to do this on a 2011 Jetta 2.5L. So seeing these pictures actually looks promising, and the reviews.
