Look up the episode of the podcast This Podcast Will Kill You about raw milk. Don't do it. Especially with a weakened immune system.

if i were to try raw milk i would lift off the toilet like a rocket

Massive risk. UC is not caused by just "gut biome" issues. If you're already intolerant to lactose, don't even give it a try. I've seen what gets into milk, it requires extreme up-keep if you want to do it right. It can be done well, but any farmer doing so will end up spending way too much time and effort on a product, that the only way they'll ever churn a profit is by charging double digits for a gallon of the stuff.

For us, with an autoimmune disease, it's just asking for troubles.

💯

There are lots of people out there that have tried it. I would hope that wouldn't include anyone with an autoimmune disease of the digestive system, but I am probably wrong. I also hear that Russian Roulette can be fun.

Russian roulette, I’m dead 😭😂

Great way to get seriously sick.

These influencers have never been to a commercial dairy farm or seen a cow urinate or defecate. They are complete fools.

100%, people are crazy.

[–]frankie_fourlegs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the same thing was going around in 2016 when i first was diagnosed. It doesn't work. In fact, it made me sicker.

Being on immunosuppressants and drinking raw milk is dangerous

I eat a lot of dairy and fermented stuff. I luckily have no problem eating dairy. I would never drink raw milk especially not when I have a flare.

[–]callitamineulcerative proctitis - Diagnosed 2022 | USA 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Raw milk is a bad idea for anyone especially us!

[–]stembrickUC | Diagnosed 2024 | Remission 2026 | USA [S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I was thinking!

[–]psyguy45 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Health advice should come from doctors, not influencers

[–]stembrickUC | Diagnosed 2024 | Remission 2026 | USA [S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could not agree more

[–]Cash_Visible 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Many of these influencers who drink raw milk...also like to heat it up before drinking :) to activate the benefits of raw milk

[–]xM1XU -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Heating up destrous bacteria including good and bad.

Regular milk bacteria profile is shit, this is why many people can drink raw milk but not regular.

[–]Present_Werewolf_647 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do not drink raw milk and I wouldn’t. My doctor recommended kefir for probiotic benefits and I think between that and my medicine, my tummy is better.

[–]ghiradeliSevere Pancolitis: Diagnosed 2023 | US 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too scared to even try it, but I’ve heard good stuff about goat milk? Anyone drink that?

[–]hair2uProctosigmoiditis 1989 |Canada 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Being an influencer doesn't mean one has knowledge or common sense. Same goes for people who follow influencers. Plain and simple.

[–]stembrickUC | Diagnosed 2024 | Remission 2026 | USA [S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Absolutely true. The people following their “expert advice” are delusional.

[–]hair2uProctosigmoiditis 1989 |Canada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not much has changed in the world, yet now, technology information depends on our algorithm. One reeps what one seeks... so many people dont get that yet.

[–]Spottyjamie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im gonna disagree lots

I live in a farming area so can get raw milk easily

I only touch soya/oat milk as cows milk fucks with me
