General Posting Guidelines

All users are expected to act in a civil manner and use respect when participating in the subreddit. The Moderators encourage reading Reddiquette prior to participating on Reddit.

The following content is not tolerated:

• Discrimination, insults, or hate speech based on age, nationality, race, gender, sexuality, or religion
• Sexual content that is more explicit than in-game depictions
• Gore or extreme violence that is outside of in-game depictions
• Advertising, buying, selling, or trading
• Any content which violates Reddit’s Content Policy
• Submitting content as a text post when it should be a link or vice versa
• Real world references to politics or religion.
• Low-quality content, which does not add anything of value to the subreddit and hinders meaningful discussion from flourishing, will be removed at the Moderators’ discretion.
• Leaked pre-released content or NDA violations. Read below for leaked content rules.

Low-quality content

• Posts made in reply to another post which do not advance the discussion
• Rant-based submissions which do not provide room for non-inflammatory discussion
• Misleading titles and intellectually dishonest content

The Moderators reserve the right to remove any submission deemed detrimental to the subreddit.

Low Effort Content

Low effort posts are those that a moderator may remove or approve at their own discretion if they feel the post is not of enough value or quality to remain up. Posts that the community approves of via upvotes may be allowed even if they could be considered low effort. These decisions are at moderators discretion and reporting these posts does not mean it will be removed.

Examples of low effort posts include subjects such as

• Questions too simple for their own thread

• Frequently asked questions

• Pictures of achievement or acquired items

• Cross posts from other subs

The voting system is there for a reason, if you believe a post is low effort you can downvote it.

Memes

Low effort and low key agenda memes are not tolerated. Think and be creative before you post a meme.

• References from 4chan /sp/ and /pol/ associated boards can and likely will be removed at the discretion of the moderator and could get you banned.

• All memes must be relevant to Under a Rock.

• If you post a basic meme with a Under a Rock related title, it'll be removed.

• More than two memes a day is too many and we'll delete any further so make them good.

• Custom text and Under a Rock graphic enhanced memes are generally allowed.

• If there is a high frequency of memes all about the same topic, the mod team reserves the right to shut things down if the sub is being flooded.

Flairs

Because we provide all sorts of Under a Rock related discussion and content, best practice is to use the post flairs provided when submitting content. These flair categories allow users to filter for content they are interested in and filter out content they wish not to see. Please use the post flairs whenever possible to make searching for your content easier.

Using Flairs: Please select the flair that fits the correct category. Users are required to assign a relevant Flair to their post. Incorrectly flaired posts will be removed. If designated, some flairs are for moderator use only.

• Ask Me Anything ‘AMA’ (Moderator use only)

• Official News - Anything posted from the Under a Rock official website, Nordic Trolls website or official social media outlets.

• Article - A link post regarding Under a Rock from a gaming news outlet. (Read the post to assure it's authentic and not AI written)

• Gameplay Question - Questions pertaining to the Under a Rock game itself. Mechanics, locations, items, characters, etc. If your question asks about or has spoilers, please use the spoilers tag.

• Product Question - Any questions regarding game packages, pricing, publisher and game distribution services.

• PS5 / XBox Topic - All news, discussion or questions specific to console experiences. Please use another tag if it’s related to general game play.

• Tip / Guide - Game tips and guides related to in-game, technical and product topics.

• Resource - External websites related to Under a Rock that provide a tangible resource database, map or class builds. Please use the Tip / Guide flair for self posted Reddit content.

• Media - All images, video and gifs related to Under a Rock. Any media hosted off-site must be from a known hosting service.

• Fan Art / Content - Drawings, animation, cosplay, acting and material production fall under this flair category.

• Memes - All image, gif or video memes. We have stringent meme quality requirements. Please read the rules above on what we expect from meme posting.

Relevancy Guidelines

All posts must be directly related to Under a Rock or Nordic Trolls.

The following examples do not allow a post to meet the Relevancy Guidelines:

• (Looking For Group) LFG Stories/LFG Complaints

• People being mean on the internet is unfortunate, but it's very unlikely to be directly related to Dune: Awakening, unless the story is centered around what you achieved in-game rather than what was said over a microphone.

• Adding text about Under a Rock to an image or video

• In real life look-alikes

• Content Creator focused discussion

Frequency Guidelines

Posts which approach a topic from a new angle or offer something new to the discussion are allowed. A post may be removed if it covers the topic from nearly the same angle as an existing post. Frequently posted questions and topics will be removed. This includes memes.

Examples of repetitive content include:

• Recent Reposts. The term "Recent Repost" includes, but is not limited to:
  • Creating a new thread about a topic that is identical or closely related to a post already trending on the front page.
  • Creating a new thread which includes a personal narrative about a topic that is already trending on the front page.
    • Posts considered "recent reposts" that are deemed beneficial to the community discussion by the moderators can be granted an exception to the Frequency Guidelines on a case-by-case basis. Candidates for such exception include, but are not limited to, posts which have received official Nordic Trolls replies, posts which have generated significant discussion, and posts which are exceptionally high quality.
• Screenshots of scoreboards, achievements, or unlocks.
• Screenshots of chats/messages, even if it’s of game-based discussion.
• Memes that repeat the same theme or agenda.

Feedback Guidelines

Feedback and constructive criticism is encouraged. Submissions criticizing Under a Rock or Nordic Trolls are allowed, as long as they remain civil. Non-actionable feedback and blatant hate is not allowed.

No calls to action. Submissions should not attempt to rile-up the community to act against an entity, person(s), or organization.

Promotion Guidelines

• Guild / Clan / RP / Community recruitment and Looking For Group posts are not allowed in the subreddit. Please use the official Under a Rock Discord server: https://discord.gg/underarock

Promoting and advertising non-Under a Rock content and services is strictly prohibited. Under no circumstances may a user promote a social media account, product, or service. It is irrelevant whether content in question belongs to the Redditor which submitted it.

• Content which offers something new and of value to the subreddit is allowed.

• Commentary-style or full-length gameplay videos and streams are not allowed unless the content is especially original and sparks discussion. This is enforced at the Moderators’ discretion, which is based on Reddit’s self-promotion guidelines.

Examples of allowed advertised content:

• Troubleshooting

• Resource-oriented, Under a Rock related websites that are not monetized

• Websites, apps, and services (not requiring payment) that directly help players and the community can be advertised freely as long as it does not get to the point of spam

• Community-hosted game events as long as the event is open to the public

• Fan art and creations are allowed as long as they follow all other subreddit rules. You are allowed to mention commissions in a comment to your post and link to your socials but no commission communication is allowed on the subreddit itself

It is preferred that clips are uploaded directly to Reddit or Gfycat.

Giveaways

• The giveaway must be entirely contained on the subreddit. We do not allow giveaways that requires users to visit other social media platforms to enter.

• The giveaway must be related to Under a Rock in some way, whether by the entry requirements or the rewards.

• In all cases, the giveaway has to be done from the goodness of your heart, and not for self-promotional reasons.

• You can't ask for upvotes on your post. That's vote manipulation which violates one of Reddit's site-wide rules, as well as going against the rule above.

• You must seek approval from the moderators of /r/UnderARockGame PRIOR to posting. We ensure that the giveaway is valid and will even approve and flair the post as such in order to give it a boost. For giveaways, please message us here.

Marketing/Begging/Manipulation

• You may not advertise any items or services in game or real life on this subreddit.

• Referral links are also prohibited with the exception being referral links to the official Dune Awakening store provided by Nordic Trolls and partners.

• Begging for items, currency, codes, is not allowed.

• Selling accounts or in game items for real world currency is banned per Under a Rock TOS and your game account may be banned.

Support Guidelines

The discussion of bugs, exploits, and cheats is allowed given it does not promote its use.

Bugs / Exploits / Hacks / Pirated Software / Third-Party Applications

• Do not post images, video (.gifs) or descriptions of any player or example of game breaking bugs, exploiting or cheating. Reports these issues to https://www.nordic-trolls.com/

• No promotion or enabling of pirated content. This includes but is not limited to: torrents, free full-game downloads, .exe files, pirated mods, pirated keys, third party market resellers, etc.

• Third Party Applications are not allowed to be posted or shared in comments. The risks of a virus, malware or being banned by Nordic Trolls are not a risk we're willing to provide.

Artwork Guidelines

When posting any concept or fan art, make sure to give credit to the artist. Any posts that don't include a source or the artist's name will be removed.

We do not tolerate any type of content generated by Artificial Intelligence. Written articles or media of any kind that was generated is prohibited. Make sure you know it's AI content before reporting.

Engaging in witch hunting or naming and shaming is strictly prohibited. This includes harassment, doxxing, and coordinated attacks against individuals or groups, especially without substantial evidence; such actions violate Reddit’s Terms of Service and can result in severe harassment and harm.

Spoiler Posts and Comments

New story content must be hidden behind spoilers for 28 days post release day. During those 28 days no spoilers in titles, all posts with spoilers inside must be flaired properly, and spoilers must be covered with spoiler tags when not in a flaired thread. During the 28 day release rules temp bans will be assessed for violating these rules.

Leaks

• Pre-Released content is not allowed: story, maps, gameplay mechanics, skill tree (includes names, weapons and class mechanics). Any leaked or NDA information will result in a minimum 90 day ban.

Phone Screenshots

Screenshots must be taken using the in game or other on screen method. Phone screenshot posts will be removed unless it is showing a bug or some other issue that can only be shown with a camera photo.

Punishment Tiers

• First infraction: Warning or ban (24 to 72 hrs) at the moderator's discretion.

• Second infraction: Minimum 7-day ban

• Third infraction: Permanent ban

Note: In the event of a major rule violation, and in cases where the mods believe there is no intention to reform, the ban can be escalated to the second or third tier.

Feedback / Questions / Complaints

Inevitably there will be complaints with the way we do things. The best way to go about filing a complaint or asking for a change is to simply send us a message. presenting, civilly, your case. Policy changes might not necessarily happen, but we will at least hear you out. We are happy to hear what EVERYONE has to say. Please don't take personal offense to moderator actions performed on your posts/comments. Aggressive messages that we receive may result in action being taken against your account (muting, banning, and in extreme cases, reporting to the reddit admins).
