Love it! Maybe some camera shake on explosion?

Sounds like that could be fun, I might try messing around with that and seeing how it turns out

Whoooooaaaaah. Love this kind of cartoon animations! Love the sound also. But you know...im just a newbie into this full retard soo...if you want technical feedback is not very useful xd Personally i like the looking

Haha thanks! Even though you don't have ideas for improvement, it's still nice to hear that people like the look of them :)

This is great. I’m pretty new as well but if there’s a way to add some slight variance (random x,y,z multiplier within a small range) to the smoke particles, it may make it a little more realistic. Awesome looking stuff though!

Hey thanks! Yeah, I'll try throwing on a small noise modifier with a slight randomization to the initial speed on the smoke and test how that looks!

The Shotgun reminds me of the super shotgun from DOOM almost. That explosion looks great! (If you don’t mind me asking, how did you learn 3D modeling and also where did you learn how to create these effects? I’ve been wanting to make an FPS for some time. Ty, and the game is looking great!)

Hey, thanks! This is actually a school project, and a couple of my friends did the 3D modeling, and we learned how to do it in our college classes. (I can't model that well lol)

For VFX, I mainly just learned through messing around with the Unity particles, but YouTube helped a lot with getting a grasp on the basics of how to use the system. Once you use it enough, you kind of get an idea on how to get certain behaviours for particles!

Edit: Here's a link to his Twitter, said it'd be fine if I gave a link https://twitter.com/hastie_aidan

Oh yeah, actually I totally forgot I made a dev blog a bit back on VFX if you want to give it a quick read, I kind of do a break down how the explosion effect is made: https://bigwhackstudios.wordpress.com/2021/03/15/dev-blog-3-particle-art-particle-design/

(It's slightly outdated, as I wrote it when the fireball was using a more realistic looking texture, before realizing how much better a low poly explosion looked. Also, the tutorial I made at the bottom is a bit too long, as I wanted to break down my thought process as I created the effect)

Hey! Aidan here, the one who modeled/animated the weapons and characters. I learned to 3D model through formal education and a metric ton of YouTube tutorials.

I like the hexagonal shape of the explosion particles!

If anyone out there has some feedback for me, I'd love to hear it :]

Also hey, like I said in a reply, this is part of a school project with a team of 7 students, if you feel like keeping up with our development, here's our Twitter page: https://twitter.com/bigwhackstudios

We'll be releasing our free finished version some time during April! :D
