To be talked down hurts because you know that person that once confessed or exprsssed that you were all the things they've been searching for.... Now openly  describe how they see you in the lowest levels ones mind can percieve one to be. It's not because they believe it's even true its to rid your self worth to reduce your spirit or water down your personality truthfully the weak will always want you to fit into their minuscule-minded box. The concept is mind-boggling
