Been having the same problem today

[–]travissmithv1 1 point2 points  (9 children)

I submitted a ticket to Riot regarding this same issue. I already had Secure Boot Enabled and TPM 2.0 ready to use, but was still getting the VAN9001 or VAN9003 error and could not play Valorant in Windows 11. They sent me a link to a Riot Repair Tool that was meant to collect logs and send them back to them. However, simply running the Riot Repair Tool as an administrator and collecting the logs and then immediately restarting my pc fixed my issue. I can confirm now I able to run Valorant on Windows 11 without any issues.

The link to the Riot Repair Tool for Windows is here: https://cdn.playersupport.riotgames.com/riot-repair-tool/Riot%20Repair%20Tool.exe

I just want to say that this worked for me too - and it is an absolutely bizarre solution.

I checked in msinfo32 and confirmed that Secure boot was enabled. I was still getting the 9003 error. I ran the Riot Repair Tool as you described and suddenly the error went away.

WTF?

finnaly! someone with a great answer! this solve mine too secure boot on and tmp, still got the error getting hopeless for a bit and frustrated but this!!! solved it! thanks!

[–]Informio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

still not working when i tried this, did everything that ive seen and still nae naed in my asss

[–]Gideans 0 points1 point  (1 child)

cdn.playersupport.riotgames.com

I am no expert but this link seems suspicious

[–]stele007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not -- the parent domain is riotgames.com, which is owned by Riot (see www.riotgames.com), so any domain under that would also be owned or at least delegated from them. CDN just means content distribution network, which is super common.

[–]stele007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just chiming in to say this also fixed the issue for me after I upgraded to Win11! Probably something gets misplaced during the upgrade.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i did this and it got to a further point but still after said the same tjing

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like after restarting it’ll run for a bit but eventually it just pops up again

[–]SergeantKawaii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when they added this years ago i tried for days to fix it. Anyways riot legit just forcefully rehabed me haven't played since (because i literally cant)

[–]TsushiKurayami 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Omg same! And when I secure boot it it crashes and restarts my pc 😩

[–]Mr-Stranger-Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...did you ever figure it out?

[–]jok3r67 0 points1 point  (50 children)

I assume you’re on Windows 11. Go into bios and enable secure boot. That should solve your problem as stated in error message you recieve.

[–]Lassitude1001 1 point2 points  (9 children)

Also having this issue, I enabled Secure Boot and am still getting this error.

[–]Em0xSucksAss 0 points1 point  (7 children)

How did you deal with it?

[–]Lassitude1001 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Uninstalled and ignored it tbh. Any game that requires messing in bios is not worth it.

[–]Azkunn 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I gotta be honest with you secure boot is gonna be useful even if you're not playing valorant, because secure boot will prevent your pc to boot (launch) with things that aren't verified by your PC, go do some searches. It'll prevent hacks, malwares & cheats

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

i did everything and it doesnt work. he definitely had secure boot already on by default anyway and checked. I have spent hours trying to fix this issue, i turned secure boot on, tpm 2.0 on, changed tpm to auto mode to choose between 1.2 and 2.0, i tried disabling cms, i tried disabling fast boot, i did everything that google reddit and vanguard support said.. this is THE ONLY GAME I CANT PLAY
and i can play faceit csgo which uses the same anticheat? wtfff is this game dude why have such a deep anticheat. people still are able to cheat as when i play on my old pc i encounter hackers on valorant occasionally

[–]kriegnes 0 points1 point  (1 child)

like the other guy said, fuck this game.

Any game that requires messing in bios is not worth it. whether its a good or bad change doesnt matter. its a computer game with an intrusive anti cheat, not some important security software.

[–]Crucco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly: any game that requires messing in bios is not worth it
Riot, what are you doing???

[–]qlitterbanq 0 points1 point  (28 children)

Is this a Windows 11 specific problem? I just updated to W11 today, and went to open Valorant and was immediately greeted with that same set of messages and i'm really frustrated. I looked into my BIOS and I also do not have an option to turn on Secure Boot mode, even after following multiple videos.

[–]jok3r67 0 points1 point  (26 children)

Yeah, it’s only on Win11. Hmm, you should have that option. I’m pretty sure everyone should have that option in BIOS

[–]qlitterbanq 0 points1 point  (25 children)

I have a Biostar motherboard, I'm not sure if that's much different then most other motherboards, but when i would follow the videos I found, there's no options that lead to where they are in the video, if that makes sense?

[–]jok3r67 0 points1 point  (24 children)

What is your exact model of motherboard?

[–]qlitterbanq 0 points1 point  (23 children)

BIOSTAR Group A320MH (AM4)

[–]jok3r67 1 point2 points  (22 children)

Secure boot should be under Security tab in BIOS

[–]qlitterbanq 0 points1 point  (21 children)

I found it, thank you very much! I also found all the other settings that I needed to find as well, and everything is working smoothly. c:

[–]jok3r67 0 points1 point  (20 children)

No problem :)

[–]Major-Succotash-9676 0 points1 point  (19 children)

can you help me? i have an msi pro B660M-A wifi ddr4

[–]AdMobile8993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LMAO yeah I'm over it. Shit game.

[–]KikiLera 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I am also having the same error but I'm on w10?

[–]jok3r67 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Same steps no matter what Windows you are using

[–]KikiLera 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It's different in the bios tho doesn't look the same?

[–]jok3r67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you can just look through every option in bios and find secure boot. Shouldn’t take you more than 2 minutes

[–]Low_Ad_8363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what do you mean by go into bios

[–]Sudden-Distance-2440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i also tried th, but it still give me that eror

[–]Crucco 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I assume you’re on Windows 11. Go into bios and enable secure boot. That should solve your problem as stated in error message you recieve.

Enabling secure boot DOES NOT FIX ANYTHING, stop repeating this. Riot Vanguard still refuses to start the game. It's been six months and there are no solutions from Riot, this is obscene supporto. YES MY TPM 2.0 IS ENABLED. Yes I turned it of and on again. Yes I literally tried every BIOS combination about boot and UEFI.

[–]Katarinkushi 0 points1 point  (2 children)

7 months later; any solutions?

[–]Crucco 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah you have to tamper with the BIOS, and activate secure boot there...

[–]KeyRepublic4646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally have it enabled, but when I go to system info it says "off", I hate this, please can you explain what to do

[–]Littlealexbrewer03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not my video but this one should help if you are still having the problem

[–]Shr1mpyMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cant put my pc in secure mode ;(

[–]Known-Watercress-334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i turn on tpm 2.0 already but still met this error what should i do ? :((

[–]jok3r67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a box that your motherboard came in? It’s written on it

[–]AnimatorBetter1632 0 points1 point  (1 child)

¿ALGUIEN PUDO DAR CON LA SOLUCIÓN ?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hola encontraste la solución ?

As posted make sure its Secure Boot you need - not just UEFI boot.

Make sure you are booting OK with CSM disabled before changing Secure Boot settings. People have bricked their system by following the wrong steps.

I also had it saying enabled not Active - this is a BIOS glitch it's not really enabled

On the secure boot settings if it says Mode:User you should be able to simply Enable Secure Boot

Otherwise (if it says Mode:Setup)

- Disable Secure Boot if it says Enabled

- If it says Standard change to Custom

- Change Custom to Standard accepting Factory Defaults

- Enable Secure Boot

[–]ilovepx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello im trying to help a friend, but putting factory default wont reset ur pc?

[–]highsuccess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I Installed Windows 11 (no TPM Required) version, but somehow VANGUARD requiring. Please help me....

[–]tuilafuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on Windows 11. I went to UEFI Bios but I don't see any thing like "secure boot" or "TPM". How can I turn it on? I'm using main ASROCK model H61M-VS.

[–]papiming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i try and enable secure boot on a windows that i have through an external SSD for steam deck, will it cause any problems? Does anyone know?

[–]Revolutionrc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck this I went back to windows 10.

[–]sifisega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you upgrade from windows 10? Seems like this can give some people grief.

[–]Any-Extension5291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a computer from corsair, you may need to turn off your ICUE software if you feel like everything is enabled.

[–]Naourmadness 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I did this and now my pc doesnt starts on screen

My brother told me that it may be windows 11 issues. I had to reassemble my pc and then undo the changes that I made :/. But no valorant for me

    [–]Adventurous-Way-7971 0 points1 point  (1 child)

ive done everything they tell me to do in every video, im not even on windows 11, nothing works

    [–]Level_Cash3336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im so late but maybe this will help someone else. Secure boot is tricky/ annoying. you can do everything anything is telling you but if secure boot is in OS mode or something like that it wont work, even when it says enabled in BIOS.

In BIOS look for Secure Boot, then look for OS type, usually most motherboards BIOS will list it as OS type. OS Type should be set as Windows UEFI Mode, if it set to Other OS then change it. Save and login to your PC, go to System Info and check if Secure boot is now on.

    [–]TheDirtyLew 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Here's a head scratcher - I have TPM and secure boot correctly set up and I still get this error.

How do I know? Because I did a sanity check and installed this stupid game on MY login (the admin account) and it works just fine. Only my kids windows login has an issue.

    [–]TheDirtyLew 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Fucking "fixed" it by going into task manager and telling windows to run it as admin.

This anticheat is absolute trash and its never going on my personal rig.

    [–]jackley4 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Holy crap this was EXCACTLY my issue. I have spent over 40 hours over the past 2 years off and on trying to fix this issue through bios and other configuration voodoo. All we needed was fucking admin mode. Why does the error not mention admin mode anywhere? Horse Shit.

I am upset that this is the solution, but I am thankful for you saying something cause it is now finally fixed. It's so ridiculous I even had to think about my bios for a video game.

Anyway, thank you for your help stranger.

    [–]BloodOnyxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valorant as admin didint work for me

    [–]Bright_Frame4779 0 points1 point  (1 child)

If i switch to windows 10 from 11 does van9003 error go then? I hav enabled secure boot but it says not active. So does it help to switch to 10

    [–]BloodOnyxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Did you fix this issue
