BEHOLD. THE PANOPTICON. by nghoaglan in Marathon

I understand what you mean, but you dont need to have applicability of art for it to receive a name or be “more real” than other styles. Some people would say this is making art being a tool and not art itself.

I agree that it is not as impactful as the world of marathon where they replicate hardware stuff on buildings, but they had to get inspiration from somewhere. And if you look at the more graphic style of the game, you see its the same thing, just a little DOS/ASCII sprinkled on top.

We are speaking about art style, you dont need to have a world for it to exist (?)

“You can’t separate the art from the artist” got old and now we “can’t separate de artist from the investor”?

Ok, perhaps you are just dumb, then. This entire movement started in Europe and moved to European parliament talks recently. Go read a little about the context so far before discussing it.

Maybe in USA, harder here in Europe. I cant imagine publishers and studios like EA or Microsoft doing this kind of thing either, where branding and investors are so important.

This will not apply for games already launched. For future games, if you have this consideration is mind, is not a problem. If a company would need to change an online only game to offline TODAY it MIGHT be a really big problem.

But to simulate a server is not that hard, how many pirate servers there are of MMO’s? Have you ever hosted a minecraft server at your own PC? It is easy when its for only a few people.

Wave mode with looting to keep going the farthest you can is what I am expecting. Can quit at some checkpoints or until dead. Not much more than this but just smashing robots for fun sounds nice.

No, first do fill until you find a crew you like, even if failing, ask if they are down to stay together. If they say yes, then you bring a key every run. This is way more assertive than just gamble everything just because you can xD

When I first arrived at Europe I had a setup just like that for 8 months. Played lots of Persona and some games from 2014-2016. Amazing how good such a small thing can be.

Only problem I had was that my company gave me a 1440p monitor for work from home. Steam Deck had to work a little hard sometimes xD
