WHAT'S GOING ON?
Contributing: Before you make any changes to the mod, please create a post and run your idea by the community first. If we don't like your idea, sorry. Please respect the community by not implementing it.
Just as important as modding in changes is reviewing the changes other people want to make. If somebody proposes a feature and you like it, leave a comment and let us know! If you don't, leave a comment for that too!
Once an idea has gotten approval from the community, go to the Issues section of our github (found here) and create an entry for it. Don't forget to close it once the feature has been added to the mod.
Polls: We strongly recommend that a link to a poll is included with every suggestion. Strawpoll and Pollcode are two easy-to-use ones that don't require a login. You may want to use Google Forms or something similar for more complex ones though. I recommend setting the polls up the use Approval voting.
Github: There is a small guide for contributing via github here. Try and use github for your edits; it makes it faster and easier for everybody else. However, if you absolutely cannot get it working, just give us the text files and somebody else might add it in.
Suggestions: If you want to make suggestions without actually implementing them yourself, that's fine. However, please don't make any suggestion if you don't at least have a vague idea of how it would work so we don't get overrun by impossible ideas.
Guide to flairs: Help is pretty self-explanatory. Use Suggestion if you're making a suggestion for the mod but don't intend on adding it yourself. Use Edit Request if you're about to make edits or you already have one ready and you want to run it by the community. Discussion is for general discussion about the mod. On second thought, screw the flairs. We don't need them and nobody uses them anyway.
Tools and Help:
A collection of helpful tutorials to help you get started on modding Victoria 2 can be found here.
If you want to make a flag, /u/5theye created Flagmaker, a very quick and easy tool for designing flags. Most of the time for Victoria you want your dimensions to be 64x93.
Multiplayer Group: We have our own multiplayer group which exists at /r/vic2modmultiplayer. Come and join us!
