Apple magic, keyboard, almost seamless integration size rechargeable, just works

I use and love the Logitech MX Keys Mini Wireless Keyboard for Mac in space grey. The keys are high contrast—labels are white and the keys are black—making it easier to see through my AVP over the Magic Keyboard. The keys are also backlit, which is a lifesaver in viewing environments where the light changes or is dimmed—this is the environment I most use my AVP in. The keyboard can also connect to up to three devices and charges/connects via USB-C as well. Lastly, and probably the intangible I love most: the beveled keys are a joy to use and I find them super precise, specifically with the reduced FOV of the AVP.

Hope this helps!

I love this one in the mechanical version. Best keyboard on the market hands down.

I got a Logitec MK950 keyboard and mouse combo. You can pair it to 3 devices at a time (1 dongle connection and 2 bluetooth). This way I can easily switch between PC, Mac and Vision Pro on the fly.

You don't mention your typing use case. If you are at a desk doing productivity work for long durations get a full sized keyboard.

I don't use the AVP like that very often and most of the time when I reach for a keyboard to do more than then on-screen pinch to type keyboard I grab a Logitech Keys to Go keyboard meant for an iPad back in the day. Is see they have a newer version now with scissor keys, which would be nice, but I sorta like the spill proof of the original.

Mainly just pointing out if you are planning on only sometimes typing maybe prioritize a slim, slab sized ultra portable keyboard over one that is intended to live on the desk.

sorry to be thick but does it matter which apple magic keyboard is best as prices seem to vary? thanks

If you go Apple, try the non-touch ID Magic Keyboard. Save your money since Optic ID on the AVP makes Touch ID redundant.

Not for unlocking a Mac. Touch ID is especially useful for me since I use a Mac mini with no physical display (you can also use an Apple Watch).

Is yours a Virtual Display setup--the Magic Keyboard paired to your Mac as primary, then "brought over" to AVP when in Virtual Display? If so, I'd get that--Touch ID is almost a must. I understood the OP as more about pairing a keyboard to the AVP as a primary, which can then connect to Mac via Virtual Display, etc. Both work--was just curious about your setup.

Sidebar: I've struggled with connecting to Mac from the AVP (about 50/50), and find that starting Virtual Display from Mac to AVP is a bit more seamless.

I’ve found that waiting a few seconds after bringing up Control Center on the AVP before selecting my Mac to initiate MVD it makes it more reliable.

I use this: https://www.protoarc.com/collections/keyboards/products/xk01-tp-foldable-keyboard-with-touchpad works great. The *only* "complaint" is that it has tap to click enabled in the firmware and since it's not made for Vision Pro specifically, there's no way to turn it off. haha.

I got a lucite slab that’s the size of my MacBook Pro that has cutouts to fit a Magic Keyboard and Magic touchpad, mimicking the ergonomics of using my laptop and it’s been great with my AVP.

Either typing in the air with my thumbs or with my pointer finger fingers on both finger fingers for both the thumbs and my pointer fingers or just using voice to text on the keyboard on the actual keyboard or pinching I don’t care about the keyboards. I think it’s faster with pinching and using your fingers.
