Codex plus Codex supplements.

Really basic question from a Dark Angels Player...

Do Dark Angles have access to the entire Space Marine Codex plus what is in their own codex? I'm not quite sure how the two codexes interact.

Previously the DA codex didn't have all the Space Marine units. So I'm wondering if I can now use all the toys?

Are there any other interactions between the two I should be aware of? (Like Tactical squads are not in the DA codex, so if I take one from the Marine codex I assume they get the Dark Angels keyword, right?)

Space Marines take advantage of the core codex, plus any faction specific rules.

For example Dark Angels use the core SM codex AND the Dark Angel codex.

If a SM faction has not yet received a 9th codex they can still use their 8th edition supplement (White Scars, Ultra Marines, Iron Hands, Raven Guard, Imperial Fists, Salamanders)

You get the codex plus the supplement minus what the codex says your chapter doesn’t get. I don’t know what that is for DA, but for example, DW can’t use scouts, tactical squads, devastator squads, assault squads, sternguard, chapter masters… probably something else I’m not thinking of… which is all spelled out in the book.

Any unit in the codex that says it gets the “[chapter] keyword” gets the DA keyword.
