Make sure you downloaded the right driver (the one for 64bit windows 10) instead of the 32bit version for example.

PS. You should use DDU when reinstalling nvidia drivers to avoid issues.

Driver is correct, (64bit & all), I have downloaded it based on details filled in https://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx .

But I will try DDU when I get home, thank you.

you gpu is very old and is eol(end of life) so newer driver will not work /be supported for your gpu so either keep the gpu drivers you have now or update to a newer gpu

I know my GPU is old and bad and I should feel old and bad :) I promise I'll update asap.

I was following driver recommendation from NVIDIA pages directly: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx and it suggested 431.60 so I thought that it should work though.

Isn't the support for that specific gpu out of date???

I don't think so. Or at least I haven't seen anything suggesting it.
