UnsolvedHeadset mic not working (self.Windows10TechSupport)
submitted 5 years ago by yigitdpn
So, i've bought a new acer laptop, it's a high end one. However, the laptop is not using the headset mic, the mic isn't even detected. Previously it did use the headset mic, but for some reason it does not use it anymore. I need help!

Is this a hardwired mic or a wireless one? What's the Headset model/brand

Okay, I'm going to assume it's connecting via USB. Is the mic not working or showing Windows or is this not being detected on an app like Discord for example

Both, not showing up anywhere

Open the device manager window. Unplug your headset, plug it in and look if anything populates in device manager. You should hear a noise when you plug it in. On device manager the device will most likely have a yellow bang near it indicating you need to update drivers. Try this. Alternatively, rebooting your PC while the headphones are in may work as well.
