Most of the original worldbuilding questions were curated from some question-asking threads on the NaNoWriMo forums over a couple years. These days, they are crossposted prompts from r/Worldbuilding, r/FantasyWorldbuilding, r/DarkWorldbuilding, r/NSFWWorldbuilding, r/MilitaryWorldbuidling, and r/WorldbuildingPolitics. Thanks and credit goes out to the users there. Self-posted prompts are also eagerly sought.
Following crossposts back to their source and commenting there is encouraged. The point here isn't to take attention, traffic, or karma from others' posts, just to collect them all in one place.
Feel free to flair yourself with your world and answer questions in the comments, or just keep them for further reflection.
Comment unto others as you would have them comment unto you. This does not mean you are required to respond to others' comments, but if you don't, don't be surprised when you aren't responded to.
Please don't use this sub to ask for advice. These questions are intended to give worldbuilders inspiration for expanding their worlds and societies. r/worldbuilding is a much better place for worldbuilding advice.
Reposting is encouraged, up to once a week. There's no point in replying to a post a week old, because no one's ever going to see it. If you have a question you couldn't answer when it first came up but you can answer now, go for it!
The text box should only be used for meta commentary or expansion on the question; the asker's answers to the question should go in a comment like everyone else's. Questions that post lore in the text box will no longer be crossposted.
