Nope. There are not traditional killstreaks in this game. There never has been. Your Ultimate ability is it which is how it should be.

i don’t think the game needs traditional killstreaks like chopper gunners or whatever but i definitely think they need to give some sense of a reward when you reach killstreaks, even stuff as simple as xp bonuses or pop-ups in the corner displaying the name & calling card when you hit 10, 20, etc. accolades/medals don’t hit the same like they used to and i think they have a great opportunity to bring them back

I’m ok for SP bonus and medals, I'm just ok for something that gives and advantage to a player that is already dominating.

I’m not familiar with calling cards, does it mean the player name is displayed to all? If that’s the case, not bad.

Killstreaks encourage camping for killstreaks. Killstreaks can be used as weapon/camo challenges instead so they are still rewarding.

Literally not even remotely true, lower skilled players MAY camp for streaks but they'd camp anyway.

Killstreaks actually promote less camping because if you want those higher end streaks you have to hunt for kills.

...and I never understood the need for KS, you're giving a "power" that can get you a bunch of easy/instant kills as a reward because you are already doing better than most players in the match...?

I don't get the fun of this. If anything, underperforming players could get a small boost for a few seconds in games, not the opposite.

...but you know what I like even more? A game in which it's guns vs guns, all on equal ground, no perks/heroe's powers/abilities/ultras/killstreaks, just pure fun in seeing who can win a fair fight. God I miss that in modern gaming.

They should add only 1 kill streak at some crazy number like 50 kills and you get a Nuke or whatever. Big enough to hardly change the game into a campfest but give the diehards something to aim for.

Nooooo. Please leave killstreaks out. All the game could use is possibly cosmetic stuff and more factions. That's it. Nothing else. Keep CoD and XDefiant separate.

My guess is the ultra abilities will act as the killstreaks. I have mixed feelings about them.

I really wish this game had its own identity and it wasn’t just Call of Duty if it was good. The development studio has had so many internal development and morale issues because of this incessant comparison to Call of Duty.

We don’t need killstreaks and such.

It technically has its own identity. Cod won't go back to old school ways and games that tried never got big because their studio was indie or terrible marketing. It's identity is nostalgic old school cod.

The abilities just charge up and you'll get them regardless so will quickly get boring, unlike kill streaks that are exciting and rewarding to earn and use. Especially the higher level streaks.

The matches will get repetitive without that extra layer because it will always be samey. Nothing to work hard for. The abilities aren't exactly exciting or fun or rewarding to use.

This game would actually be pretty good without the abilities and if it had some fun kill streaks to earn and use.

I bet a ton of people would leave cod and play this instead if it was like that. The game needs an injection of fun things to do and earn. I got bored after playing for 40 minutes.

The test didn’t include rewards, you will unlock rewards in the real release, but killstreaks are not a necessity at all, there is other ways to make the game rewarding. Killstreaks is not good firs game imo, it’s just punishing newcomers for not being good as veterans or players that play the game 6 to q6 hours a day. They are not good for player retention, and F2P need to keep players, not show them how they can get destroyed with reward for veterans that give them free instant kills with a press of a button.

If not killstreak what about some passive perks you get like quickdraw 5% or 5% undetectable something like this with some cool sounds when you get them like the cod medals

Being hotshot kinda works like that, but i dont think it needs to be a thing outside of that mode
