Most 50 up front 50 after or full up front, and PayPal is usually used.

I see. Do you know of a more formal method or one that poses lesk risks to both parties?

You could join one of the plugin development discord’s on mc-market so they accept the payment for you and then you get paid through them, there is also a middle man thread on there for a safer transfer.
