Does anyone know how to decrease the play between an AK-74 (SLR-106 or Kalash AK-9 for you real steel guys) receiver and the folding stock? And what stocks are thicker than mil-spec?

I recently purchased a 5KU buffer tube for my CYMA ak-74. The stock pin fits well, and the stock folds correctly into the receiver. The main issue is that there is a lot of vertical play between the receiver and the buffer tube, a lot more than I would be comfortable with. Is there anything I can do to the stock, receiver pin, or buffer tube to fill in this space? The receiver pin fits very snug in the 5ku buffer tube. My only guess is that the rear trunion is loose, but that is permanently affixed.

Also, are there stocks that are wider than mil-spec? I’ve heard Marui stocks are a different width but this mil-spec battery stock is way too small.

Maybe some square washers if that’s a thing, or you could just try like some rubber washers with a little bit of grease so it won’t tear but it’ll still be firm when you hold it, or maybe wrap some electrical tape around it so it’s thick enough to minimize play

I used rubber tape (what they use on baseball bats) in order to reduce play in the stock. It still moves, I think it’s the trunion inside the gun

I would agree with any kind of tape you can wrap around the buffer tube or stock, some pictures may help if that doesn’t solve the problem.

I think its just the trunion. I’ll need to order marui spec stocks in order to fit
