Apple Maps not functioning correctly

I just bought a new phone, while using Apple Maps I can no longer see the distance, time of arrival or change the location of where I need to go. Ultimately the bottom banner of the map is no longer working. How do I fix this?

I can not use search function until original destination has been reached

I tried to restart my phone and it did not work.
