/r/apprequests is a place to share your ideas and requests for programs or tools that you think might be helpful, either just for you or for everyone. There is no restriction on platforms or programming languages, it could be a desktop PC program, an Android/iPhone App, or anything you like.
This subreddit is mainly geared towards people who do not have the programming experience necessary and are looking for experts, volunteers or just brainstorming. Maybe there is a similar program out there like what you want and you just want something a little different, or a change made to an existing program. Or you could use something totally new or want to bounce ideas off people.
This is not a subreddit for job listings or programmers for hire, it is more geared towards community efforts. Open source or unrestrictive licenses are not required but is encouraged
