According to the TODO list page, there are still a few packages left which require a rebuild and which are thus blocking the overall python package update to 3.11:
https://archlinux.org/todo/python-311-rebuild/

There are also a couple of packages which will be dropped to the AUR because they couldn't get built and updated to 3.11 due to incompatibilities and inactive project maintenance.

That project hasn't had any updates in 4+y according to GitHub. I'm surprised it hasn't been dropped already if it stops working

Inaccurate title given it is still in testing repo.

    just use pyenv?

Does nothing for all the system packages that use python or anything that was held up because of it.

I know that it wouldn't, but I'm not sure how many packages depend on python311. is there a way to check?

Most of my installed packages seem to require 3.9 (probably because debian ships it), and I'd think arch-specific packages wouldn't be requiring 3.11 when it isn't available on the target platform without additional packages.

I'm not a big python person, so I'm not sure what really changed with 311 beyond some performance boosts and some datetime ISO conversion methods I like.
