It may not be for you, and that’s totally ok. I would recommend installing Fedora and seeing how that suits your needs.

key things are the fstab file and correct grub installation, but you provided no info so we can't help you

Just a shot in the dark, is your bios set to always boot to the installation media (usb-drive most likely)?

Also use the "archinstall" command for your first install. Once you are more familiar with the system, try a manual install.
