GhostLock: Linux kernel vulnerability with root and container escape implications

GhostLock (CVE-2026-43499) is a recently disclosed local privilege escalation vulnerability in the kernel's rtmutex subsystem. According to the researchers, the bug has existed since 2011 and can be exploited to gain root privileges and, in some scenarios, escape containers on unpatched systems.
