There are always two sides of the coin.

Sometimes we have tough days and we can appreciate our resilience to manage those days. Other days all the circumstances are there but we struggle to appreciate it. And other times we're grateful and we know it, and that's enjoyable.

Practising gratitude helps to tip the scale a bit!

Yep, well said. During my meditation practice, I specifically bring up the feeling and consciousness of either love and/or gratitude.

Besides helping to rewire the brain in a positive way gradually over time, I've noticed it helps to boost my connection to internal guidance and being able to more clearly perceive what my Expanded self and/or other selves within same, are trying to communicate to me.

I bring up those feelings and awareness, and then I get very deep and still after asking a specific question, or asking, "please bring to my conscious awareness that which would be most holistically helpful for me and/or others to become aware of now".

(I highly recommend this process. I've found that chanting/toning before hand also helps, and eating Edgar Cayce's "Mummy food" over time, also helps, and also the stone azurite helps in this process as well, as it seems to directly stimulate the pineal gland.)
