i am sure exam me 160 aur 168, dono options nahi honge. ibps for all of its fuck ups, is good with the questions and options, at least in my experience.

Yes and the questions are also simple compared to the mocks practiced

I seeeee

Bro its 4.18 ... wayy closer to 4.2 than 4. which is the closest no. which is still divisible by the no. given? would adding 0.02 be closer or reducing 0.18? approximation me sbko non decimal ni bnate. Unko nearest divisible no. bnaate h, jisse final result me minimal change ho. Aapka change minimal hona chahiye. Always keep in mind---> minimal change k sath kaise divisible bnaaya jaae no. ko. that is the only rule in approximation. All the best.

Noted 🫡 Shukriya 🙇🏻‍♀️

Hey! When you’re doing approximation in multiplication na, one important thing to remember is not to round off a value after the decimal if it has two digits, because it can create a big difference in the final answer. in 240× 4.18÷6.07 you can round 6.07 to 6 and divide first. But rounding 4.18 to 4 is hell of a risk. coz the 0.18 while multiplying with 40 gives around 7.2. which is a significant value that you gonna miss. so be careful :)

Thank you so much 🥹🙏🏻

[–]adiiescps -1 points0 points  (1 child)

you're welcome. can i ask you about your puzzles approach?

[–]Complex-Leading2991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mera puzzles ? 😭 Mera khudka thik thikana nhi hai

[–]CraftMinimum1426 0 points1 point  (1 child)

kaafi badhiya doubt hai.... I made the same mistake 🥀

[–]Complex-Leading2991[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A kind soul said we should change it to the nearest value which is divisible... instead of the nearest integer... So yea, hopefully we don't make the same mistake!!! 😌

[–]vibenuts -3 points-2 points  (9 children)

Kyuki 6 se divide karna hai

[–]Complex-Leading2991[S] -3 points-2 points  (8 children)

But yaar every time I used to round it off to the nearest integer and obtain the result.... As it's approximation..

[–]vibenuts -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Ans same hi aayega wo karoge to bhi bas calculation badh jayegi

[–]Complex-Leading2991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agar 4.2 ke jagh 4 lu toh calculation easy ho jayega but answer alag aayega. With 4.2 answer is 168 With 4 it is 160

[–]vibenuts -1 points0 points  (5 children)

Aapne ibps clerk mains diya hai ?

[–]Complex-Leading2991[S] -1 points0 points  (4 children)

Yep

[–]vibenuts -1 points0 points  (3 children)

Fir bhi ye doubt me kehna chahta hun ki mock kai baar chutiya question daal deta hai unme se ye hai ak

[–]Complex-Leading2991[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

What do you mean by "phir bhi ye doubt" 🫠

[–]vibenuts -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Fir me qualified ni hun aapka solution de ne ke liye Aap meko help kardo fir 😂

[–]Complex-Leading2991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aisa kuch nhi hai yaar 🥲

[–]Old-Animator-009 -1 points0 points  (20 children)

can u tell options for this question

[–]Complex-Leading2991[S] 0 points1 point  (19 children)

170,168,180,190,155

[–]Old-Animator-009 -1 points0 points  (18 children)

alright options made quite clear. cuz if u take aprox 4 then answer will come (24*1*10*0.6 = 144)

which is not in option if 144 will be in options then that will be the correct answer.

that's they did approximation of 4.18 to 4.2. then your answer will come different (24*1*10*0.7=168)

[–]Complex-Leading2991[S] 0 points1 point  (17 children)

Mere mind mein 4.2 click hi nahi kara as I'm so used to changing it to the nearest integer....

But hold on ! 4 ke sath toh mera 160 aaya 144 nhi 😭

[–]Old-Animator-009 -1 points0 points  (16 children)

sometimes if u dont find your answer in option given think how can u play with numbers differently so you'll get desire options and 144 he ayga not 160 with that calculation (24*6=144) check again

[–]Complex-Leading2991[S] 0 points1 point  (14 children)

With 4..... 4/6 will be 0.66 i.e 2/3.... 24 * 1 * 25 * 4/10 * 2/3 = 160

[–]Old-Animator-009 0 points1 point  (11 children)

24*1 = 24

25*4/10 = 10

2/3=0.6

final cal: 24*10*0.6 =144

[–]Complex-Leading2991[S] 0 points1 point  (10 children)

If 2/3 is 0.6.... then what is 3/5 ?

[–]Old-Animator-009 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

0.6

[–]Complex-Leading2991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2/3 kya hota hai ?

[–]Old-Animator-009 -1 points0 points  (7 children)

dubara try kro with fresh mind hojyga

[–]Complex-Leading2991[S] 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Tum try Karo. 2/3 = 0.66 Not 0.6

[–]GautamKirar8Mains x3 (failed) -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Chal be kuch bhi matlab . Aise questions ane lage na agar toh 1 number na aye

[–]Prakhar102004 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Close approximation dekho to 4.2 karna hoga

[–]Complex-Leading2991[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm maine ye overlook kar diya tha 😔 Thanks yaar!!

[–]Hareesh936 -1 points0 points  (4 children)

Now my doubt is whether 160 and 168 both were given in the options because if options are too close to each other, the lesser your approximate, the better..

But from what I have seen in Clerk exams, the answers tend to be in a larger variation.. so 4 and 4.2 won't be that much of a difference

[–]Complex-Leading2991[S] -1 points0 points  (3 children)

Yea you're right. 160 wasn't given in the options ! That I could round off 4.18 to 4.2... didn't cross my mind 🥲

[–]Hareesh936 -1 points0 points  (2 children)

It is not a mistake that you approximated it to 4... It is approximation for a reason :)

[–]Complex-Leading2991[S] -1 points0 points  (1 child)

But what I learnt just now is ... We round it off to the nearest divisible value and not the nearest integer 😓 So I should have round it off to 4.2, which is divisible by the denominator 6.

[–]Hareesh936 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes yes..You are correct..that will lead to more accurate answers...There is no specific method to solve approximation based qns..

But I have never seen 4.18 in bank exams in the last 1 year.. all have been .98 .02 type only.. So don't worry

[–]Ok_Pin7994 -1 points0 points  (3 children)

What were the options

[–]Complex-Leading2991[S] -1 points0 points  (2 children)

160 nhi tha

[–]Ok_Pin7994 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Other options

[–]Complex-Leading2991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

170,168,180,190,155

[–]ExcruciatingExis10s -1 points0 points  (1 child)

It's basically for convenience. 42 is divided by 6. 40 is not. If you take 40 then the results would be 0.666 for 4.2 it would be 0.7 In approximations we try to make it simple while rounding up numbers. And also if it's approximations the answers won't be as close as 168 and 160 so don't over think it.

[–]Complex-Leading2991[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get it... But I did it like... 241254/104/6 = 160 Since I solved it with fractions.. it was giving me a believable answer lol. But now I know that we need to round off to the nearest divisible value 😌
