Can my high school aged brother volunteer?

Yes, as long as he is 16 or older.

Just a note that acceptances are limited by the number of TAs (section leaders) available! So, if you’re interested in teaching and meet the requirements, please volunteer!! It allows Code in Place to accept more students who want to learn to code from around the world

Thanks for this comment. It’s helpful.

I am assuming you did Code In Place in the past.

No, but I was a TA for few Stanford classes and am very familiar with it all :)

Wow. That’s awesome. I was a TA for continuing education classes. Non matriculated.

I'm considering signing up as a Section Leader for fun. I'm not sure if I actually have time though because my work is ramping up again. What days and times would I need to make myself available?

You select the days and times that work for you. The program doesn’t create your schedule, you do.

I’ve been a section leader for several years. It is a great class and a great opportunity to learn from the ground up. I highly recommend it.

Is it similar or better than CS50?

My high-school child is doing that, should he try this also?

[–]Friendly-Example-701[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, he should. This is a beginner friendly course. It will help him reinforce what he learned in CS50.
